WORKING SESSIONS WITH REAL RESULTS

The Institute will promote active participation within and across teams, and with Institute Faculty and Facilitators. The Institute includes

  • Plenary presentations on research and best practices
  • Concentrated time for teams to work with their facilitator on developing plans and implementation strategies
  • Consultation with Institute Faculty to address specific challenges in experiential education at your school
  • Interaction with other teams to discuss research, best practices, and your plan as it evolves during the Institute

Friday, July 6: Moving In

  • Settle into one of our Vineyard houses
  • Orientation session with Faculty, Facilitators, and others
  • Evening cookout

Saturday, July 7: Building Awareness

  • Plenary presentation and interactive sessions with keynoter Etienne Wenger and Institute Faculty
  • Initial cross-school discussions of issues in the plan for your school
  • Concentrated time to work on initial stages of plan and implementation strategies for your school

Sunday and Monday, July 8 and 9: Inquiry and Response

  • Plenary sessions followed by lively discussion
  • Research/best practices related to issues of importance to the participating schools
  • Concentrated time to work with your Institute Facilitator on your plan
  • Consultations with Institute Faculty to address specific challenges in experiential education at your school
  • Socializing, enjoying the Vineyard, reflecting, and sharing your progress and challenges with others for their feedback
  • A traditional New England clambake on Sunday or Monday evening

Tuesday, July 10: Wrap-up

  • Presentations of each school’s plan, followed by discussion and feedback
  • Farewell lunch
