MARTHA’S VINEYARD SUMMER INSTITUTE
on EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION

Join Us at One of the Following Sessions:
June 22-26, 2008, or June 27-July 1, 2008

The Institute focuses on strategies to strengthen your campus’ efforts to promote learning outside and inside the traditional classroom through cooperative education, service-learning, faculty/undergraduate research, community-based research, study abroad, academic internships, student leadership development, and other related programs.

PARTICIPANTS
Participants may include academic officers, faculty members, and other professionals in experiential education. They may be at any stage in the development of experiential education on their campus, from planning new
programs to innovative and strategic advancement of ongoing programs.

Applications are encouraged from any two-year or four-year institution of higher learning.

TEAMS
The Institute is designed for teams of three to six people. Teams will develop a plan for their institution that builds on multiple perspectives and a shared vision for implementation. (Schools considering a team outside this range are encouraged to consult with the program director, Richard Porter, by phone at 617.373.5888 or by email at r.porter@neu.edu.)

PRICE
The price of $2500 per person includes the option of a pre-Institute site visit by a faculty member to your school (in North America); lodging for four nights; tuition; a team facilitator; consultation with Institute faculty; most meals (continental breakfasts, lunches, opening night cookout, New England clambake); and a post-Institute phone consultation.

(A deposit of $500 per person will be due upon acceptance to the Institute.)
